1939 Representative Season
The 1939 season is one that started with much promise, with North Otago claiming wins over South Canterbury in both encounters and picking up a victory over Manawatu. However a close one-point loss to Bush, in the first encounter between the two unions, marked a downward turn in fortunes.
A shock loss to Eastern Districts in Palmerston was followed by a loss to Otago in Oamaru to finish off the season
