1938 Representative Season
North Otago’s 1938 season was highlighted by their first ever challenge for the Ranfurly Shield, against Otago in Dunedin. The match was won by Otago 12-0.
Matches against South Canterbury and Canterbury, both in Oamaru, kickstarted the provincial calendar for North Otago in 1938. With a return match with South Canterbury played in Timaru following the Ranfurly Shield Challenge with Otago.
Although no matches were won by North Otago in 1938, the side managed respectable results against Otago and in their first encounter with South Canterbury in Oamaru.
